Continuing from the list of the artists I listened to the most during 2010 posted at the beginning of this month, here are the songs last.fm claim I listened to the most. The top two songs were included on my list last year and with only three all new songs in total I suppose this could serve as another example of my changing music listening habits. I’ll be the first to admit that it seems a bit one-tracked, but I really do love Apollo 18’s Red… Find my complete top 10 after the jump.
Anna’s Most Listened to Korean Tracks 2010
1. Apollo 18 – Warm (5) [MySpace]
South Korean MAP song of January, 2010.
My favorite Apollo 18 track turned even better when the pace slowed down a bit. Nothing – and I do mean nothing – beats the sensation of being in place in some small venue when Apollo 18 play this song live. It should’ve gotten a 3D music video during 2010, but it was canceled as they couldn’t make a short enough version of the song. Wishing the song would last even longer – how could I possibly blame them?

Much like in 2009, I’ve kept using last.fm to keep track of what I listen to. My music listening in 2010 has not been what it used to be though, because of various reasons (primarily non-working CD drive at home followed by a lack of address to order CDs to) I haven’t been listening to even remotely as much new music as I usually do. A lot of what I did get around to listen to wasn’t scrobbled, but looking at my last.fm charts they do seem to present a reasonably fair image of what music I enjoyed the most during 2010. Numbers here.
Anna’s Most Listened to Korean Artists 2010
1. Apollo 18 (3)
One of my very favorite bands already in 2009, that position was further reinforced during 2010. The re-recorded version of the Red EP that came out early January is my most favorite release ever and as if that wasn’t enough they also offered a brand new EP a couple of weeks later, so naturally their numbers would have to be a bit inflated. On top of that Apollo 18 is the best live band I’ve ever seen (the May 1st show with The Plastic Day was far beyond awesome) and they’ve provided material for plenty of other memories I’m more than happy to revisit. I wish them all the best in their endeavors to take on the world in 2011.

So we already have Bugs Chart to keep track of which songs people are listening to, but what about which CDs they buy? Well that’s something we can find out from Hyang Chart!
As it happens what is likely the foremost store for Korean indie music sells enough Korean indie music CDs to keep the sales chart very interesting. I’ll be posting the top 10 here whenever I notice a chart update (they’re a bit irregular, from what I’ve observed during the summer), and also include any new additions of particular interest. With getting back to more regular postings here at Indieful ROK in September and all, I figured keeping track of this chart would be a nice addition + I like how it can help me keep up with any release I may have overlooked before.
During the weekend the chart for the first week of September was posted so here you go, complete with long overdue release updates:

Happy days! Long at last, Indieful ROK favorite Sunkyeol will release an EP!
Four demo songs as written & recorded by Kyoungmo Kim (formerly of Especially When) and Joe Hollick (of Wolf People) can be found on it, including the beyond fantastic I’ll Write When I’m There that can be sampled through MySpace alongside EP track Aphex Convention. And you can trust me when I say the other two songs are just as wonderful.
The EP will be released via Electric Muse on August 10. For more on Sunkyeol, here’s Indieful ROK’s interview from last year.
In addition, in her enthusiasm for Dear Cloud, Widhi has proposed making a fan video for them, to be handed over at the August 20 release show following the band’s upcoming EP. To particiapte, check out [Wiz Project] Episode 1.
